🤖 Top 5 Cyberpunk Games of the 2010s

In the last decade, games about the future were already imagining a world where the mind could be upgraded, copied, and rewritten. These ideas haven't aged: today, amid the hype around AI and robots, they feel even more relevant—raising questions about ethics and the consequences of technological progress.

1️⃣ Deus Ex: Human Revolution (2011), a cyberpunk story set in a world where the human body has become a platform for upgrades and power belongs to biotech corporations. The player sees how technology reshapes social hierarchy: who is "augmented," who is "ordinary," and what freedom costs in the age of augmentation.

2️⃣ The Swapper (2013), a futuristic puzzle game about clones. To move forward, you create copies of yourself and transfer your consciousness between them. But the longer you look at your own duplicates, the more unsettling it feels.

3️⃣ Transistor (2014), a stylish action RPG about a futuristic city attacked by a mysterious digital force: streets and buildings disappear and reshape themselves before your eyes. It's a story about how easily humans lose control when someone else gains access to the world's "settings."

4️⃣ The Talos Principle (2014), a first-person puzzle game where you play as a robot completing trials in a strange world that looks like both ancient ruins and a computer simulation. Along the way, a voice from the system speaks to you, raising questions about identity, consciousness, and whether a machine can become human.

5️⃣ SOMA (2015), a narrative sci-fi horror set on a deep-sea research station: darkness, pressure, and a constant sense of isolation. Gameplay focuses on exploration—reading logs and terminals, searching for key items, and avoiding dangerous creatures. The tension comes from the stories of the people (and not only people) trapped on the station, trying to understand what they've become.
