❤️ AI Agents Could Find You a Romantic Partner
London developers have built a simulation where AI digital twins of people interact to gauge how compatible their real-life counterparts might be—for work, friendship, or relationships. The project is called Pixel Societies.
An agent is built on an LLM—the model is fed with data about a person's personality and interests. These virtual clones meet and chat, then recommend who might be worth pursuing a real-life connection with.
💡 In 2017, psychologists from the University of Utah showed that algorithms, based solely on questionnaires, can barely predict whether two people will feel a spark. The key factors are how much time they spend together and how their first encounter goes.
So instead of endless swiping, Pixel Societies aims to help people connect naturally—on a global scale.
"As humans, we only live one life. But what if we could live a million? It would give us more breadth to experiment," says platform co-creator Joon Sang Lee.
Would you trust AI to find you a partner?
❤️ — Yes, it's more convenient
🤔 — No, it's just weird
