❤️ "Smart" Pillow Changes Shape to Help You Really Get Some Sleep

A "smart" pillow called Mirakuru has been developed in Japan. It gently redistributes pressure during sleep, helping you wake up without that sluggish morning feeling.

The idea came from Yujihiro Takenouchi, founder of the RIRAKURU massage parlor chain, which grew to 600 locations across Japan over ten years. But all that time, Takenouchi couldn't figure out why people still woke up feeling groggy even after a relaxing massage. That led him to the idea — the problem might be the pillow.

🔍 Most people sleep without moving, keeping the same areas of the head and neck under pressure for hours. By morning, that turns into stiffness and soreness. Mirakuru periodically and gently shifts the support point by moving air between six internal chambers. The person doesn't wake up — the noise level stays below 50 decibels.

💡 Takenouchi tested the device on himself and was completely satisfied, claiming that sleep trackers confirmed the improvement. The project has already raised $85,000 on Kickstarter — several times its initial goal. The first backers will receive their pillows in June.

Would you try a pillow like this?

❤️ — Yes, I'd finally get some real sleep
🤔 — I doubt it would help
