These are the recent findings by analysts at Sensor Tower. By the end of May, ChatGPT's share had dropped to 46.4% due to the growing shares of Gemini (27.7%) and Claude (10.3%). Grok, Perplexity, and DeepSeek account for less than 5% of the market.

💡 Still, ChatGPT remains the world's most popular AI assistant—in May, its number of monthly active users exceeded 1 billion. It is followed by Gemini with 662 million and Claude with 245 million. Claude is gaining users the fastest—640% over the past year, compared to +62% for ChatGPT.

⏳ The time people spend on generative AI services has more than doubled over the past year. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini account for nearly 90% of that time.
