Uri is a German-speaking canton located in the heart of Switzerland, between Lake Lucerne and the Saint-Gotthard mountain range, in the north of the Swiss Alps. These are very wooded lands - both in the mountains and on the plains. Many of the local mountains are covered with eternal glaciers.
