Portugal 🇵🇹, Battaglia Monastery

The Battaglia Monastery is a triumphant symbol of Portuguese independence, a majestic monastery of Battle. That's what they call him. The cathedral nave of the monastery building rose to a height of 32 meters. The main motive of the decorative design was the marine theme. The walls are decorated with intricate stucco, and above the facades are carved lattice balustrades. The portal of the western facade on the sides is decorated with sculptures of 12 apostles on openwork consoles. In the center there is a statue of the Savior surrounded by evangelists framed by 6 arches with statues of biblical kings, prophets and angels. So, what is it so famous for, this monastery.

The cathedral of the monastery has five chapels, in the center is the Main Altar and magnificent stained glass windows from 1514, made in the Manueline style. Interestingly, almost all the stained glass windows of the church have been preserved since the beginning of the sixteenth century.
