A magical morning in Velka Fatra

Velka Fatra is an area of a mountain range in the north of Slovakia, the highest point of which is Mount Ostredok, which reaches 1,592 meters. These territories were declared a protected area back in 1971, and since 2002 Velka Fatra has received the status of a national park and is open to the public. 

Over 1000 species of rare plants grow here, and 90% of the territories are covered with forests of yew, beech, spruce and fir. In protected forests there are: gray wolf, European lynx, brown bear, peregrine falcon, black grouse, golden eagle, capercaillie.
