🇺🇸 EAST COAST SEA NETTLE 🇺🇸

Chrysaora quinquecirrha, commonly called the East Coast sea nettle or Atlantic sea nettle is, as the name suggests, found along the East Coast of the United States 🇺🇸
This scyphozoan jellyfish can grow up to 40cm/16in wide! It’s sting has been described as moderate to severe but is very unlikely to be fatal to humans (unless you’re allergic)! This jellyfish is also carnivorous and generally feeds on zooplankton, ctenophores (comb jellies) and other jellyfish!
