Red billed oxpeckers help impalas by eating ticks and larvae
Impalas get a little help from the red-billed oxpeckers as these birds keep the bugs at bay. It is said that a fully grown oxpecker can devour up to 100 ticks and 12,000 tick larvae a day. That said, I can imagine that a bird pecking in your ear can be pretty annoying! 😅
