Big cats drink by creating water columns with their tongues

⁠Always fascinated by how big cats drink... They are such massive animals but it always looks as if they're barely getting any water in. But that is deceptive because the smooth tip of the tongue barely touches the surface of the water before the cat draws its tongue back up. As it does so, a column of liquid forms between the moving tongue and the liquid's surface and through this method, a fully grown tiger in the wild can drink up to 75 litres of water a day.⁠⁠
