Swiss cows are helicoptered down from mountains after summer

At the end of summer, visitors to Switzerland may witness an unusual sight: cows being helicoptered down mountains. Swiss cows spend the summer in the mountains feasting on high-altitude herbs before returning to the valleys for comfortable winters. If a cow is unable to make the difficult journey down, they must be helicoptered because trailers cannot navigate the mountain roads. In some cases it is to rescue an injured animal.
