🍳 Egg-Yolk Jellyfish 🍳

This the the egg-yolk or fried egg jellyfish, Phacellophora camtschatica, not to be be confused with Cotylorhiza tuberculata which is also referred to as the fried egg jellyfish!

This species has a really cool relationship with larval crabs, specifically Cancer gracilis, which in return for shelter and a ride, remove amphipods which aids the jellyfish as they are parasites!

This jellyfish is commonly found around the northern pacific in cooler waters and can grow to be 60cm/24in wide with tentacles reaching up to 6m/20ft in length!
