The Blue Bottle or Pacific Man O’ War, Physalia physalis, is a species of siphonophore which are a group of critters closely related to jellyfish!
Blue Bottle’s are not a single animal but a colony of individuals, called zooids, each with it’s own function! These zooids are dependent on each other for survival!
These zooids and their functions include;
Pneumatophore - the float
Dactylozooids - the tentacles
Gastrozooids - digestion
Gonozooids - reproduction
