"Definitely one of my most memorable moments underwater! The mesmerizing mimic octopus that believed it can fly. Recently, I found a spot with several mimics in direct proximity. Seeing all these octopus heads lurking in the sand reminded me a bit on garden eels 🤭 One of them left its hole and played in the sand! Once I tried to get closer it started to swim in a parabolic curve to the surface and slowly parachuted back to the ocean's ground. Actually, I was so astounded that I just watched the whole show and only filmed the very end of it. But what did it want to mimic?? My best guess: it was trying to imitate its close cousin, the wunderpus, which is known to show this behavior! 😜"
