Giant s causeway в ірландії має близько 40000 базальтових колон
Also known as the “Land Bridge of Giants”, the Giant's Causeway in Ireland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous tourist attraction. It's estimated there are around 40,000 basalt columns, the majority of them hexagonal; however you may spot columns with five or even eight points.
These basalt columns are unique rocks, formed via volcanic activity around 60 million years ago. The lava cooled down gradually and slowly, leading the mass to contract and causing stress cracks in even patterns, creating pillars in hexagonal shapes.
The stone and cliff formations provide habitats for various birds, and are known for an incredible hiking trail, and as a favourite sunrise spot for tourists.
