The Pyramids of Giza, known in Arabic as Ahrāmāt Al-Jīzah or Giza, and sometimes spelled as Gizeh, consist of three pyramids from the 4th dynasty (circa 2575–circa 2465 BCE). These pyramids were constructed on a rugged plateau situated on the western side of the Nile River, close to Al-Jīzah (Giza) in the northern region of Egypt. During antiquity, they held a place among the Seven Wonders of the World.
