Gulper Eel (Eurypharynx pelecanoides): The gulper eel is most famous for its enormous, gaping mouth that allows it to swallow prey much larger than itself. Living at extreme depths, its oversized jaws and expandable stomach are adaptations to the scarcity of food in the abyssal zone.
