The Moorish idol is a striking marine fish renowned for its distinctive appearance, characterized by a long, curved dorsal fin and a black, white, and yellow color pattern. Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including the coral reefs of the Pacific Ocean, it primarily inhabits shallow waters. Moorish idols are herbivores, feeding mainly on algae and coral polyps. They are also known for their relatively long lifespan in the wild, which can extend up to 20 years.
