These reindeer were photographed near Tjautjas in the Arctic Circle during winter, a time when the sun remains below the horizon.

Contrary to common belief, it isn’t constant darkness—midday offers deep purple and pink polar light, followed by the soft glow of the blue hour. The faint sunlight below the horizon, combined with the moon low in the sky, created stunning lighting conditions.
