Giant otter families thrive in amazon basin waterways

Giant otters, the charismatic guardians of South America’s waterways, are a marvel to behold. Found in the rivers and swamps of the Amazon Basin, these social otters can reach up to 6 feet in length, making them the largest otters in the world.
Living in tight-knit family groups, giant otters are known for their exceptional teamwork. They hunt cooperatively, using sharp eyesight and powerful swimming skills to outmaneuver fish, crustaceans, and even small caimans.
