Sure that this red yarn would make the most luxurious nest that would be featured in news reports all over the world. At the very least it could be turned into warm sweaters for the chicks. We’re used to gulls taking food from stores but they constantly evolve and adapt to new conditions.

However, on a more serious note, these wool threads can be dangerous for gulls because they can easily get tangled around their legs or beaks. Even human hair can severely injure our beloved birds’ feet. So in the end the yarn was returned to the store.
