Crossing rivers is usually a task that elephants do not struggle with for obvious reasons. However, sometimes, when attempting to cross rivers towards greener pastures, they can be swept off their feet.

This occurs mainly with young elephants that have not reached full size and requires a deep river with an extremely strong current. Rivers such as the Narok Waterfall in Thailand are known to be very dangerous, and have already claimed the lives of several elephants. 🐘 💧
