Female frogs face many challenges when trying to lay and protect their eggs.

The first challenge is finding a suitable mating partner, as there are often multiple frogs attempting to mate with the same female. This can lead to aggressive behaviour and even deaths between males. The female frogs will usually search for secluded areas to mate in order to avoid unwanted company.

Once they successfully mate with a male frog, females still face the challenge of protecting their eggs. Frog eggs are considered an easy target for many predators, and species such as dragonflies, water striders, foxes, raccoons, and snakes often attempt to steal them. This is one of the main reasons for the importance of the egg's location. The more secluded, the safer the eggs are. 🐸 🥚
