With African wild dogs, movement always begins with ritual.

As the heat fades and the valley shifts into those crepuscular hours, the pack begins to stir. One by one, they rise — tails wagging, noses touching, soft whines and chirps breaking the silence. It’s a sound unlike any other: high-pitched, excited, full of unity.

This greeting ceremony is more than affection — it’s coordination. It strengthens bonds, synchronized energy, and prepares the pack for the hunt ahead.
