Elusive, elegant, and rarely seen 🪶

The Lady Amherst’s pheasant’s extraordinarily long tail, which can reach up to 80 centimetres, helps it stay balanced as it moves gracefully through its habitat foraging for food.

This bird is named after Lady Sarah Amherst, who introduced the first specimens to Europe in 1828.
