Yellowstone wolves nap together in fresh snow

These wolves make a nap in the snow look so cozy! This Yellowstone National Park pack was captured on video lying in some fresh powder, relaxing in the winter sun.

Wolves have two layers of fur. Guard hairs are the outer layer, protecting from wind, rain and snow. The undercoat is the second layer. It’s thick and soft, providing insulation. Blood vessels in their toes help regulate temperature, keeping their paws warm in frigid conditions. These adaptions allow wolves to live in conditions 40 degrees below zero🥶
