The sand cat is found in desert regions across North Africa, West Asia, and Central Asia.

Its thick fur provides insulation against extreme temperatures, and its wide paws are densely covered with hair to protect them from hot sand and allow for silent movement.

These cats are active at night and during twilight, which helps them remain secretive and rarely seen in the wild. They hunt small prey, including rodents, lizards, and insects.
