Ukrainian troops were advancing in the south on Thursday after Russia’s announcement of a retreat from the strategic port city of Kherson. Ukraine claimed to recapture a dozen settlements in the region, even as military officials said they could not be sure that Moscow’s forces were indeed withdrawing from the city. Read more
