Shiok Meats' lab-grown seafood is 2 years from commercial launch
By using stem cells to cultivate seafood in a laboratory, this startup has raised about US$30m in investment funding since it was founded in 2018.
A vegetarian herself, Sandhya Sriram, the co-founder and chief executive officer of Shiok Meats said: "This is environment-friendly, it's sustainable because we don't kill animals - there's no animal cruelty. We don't use any chemicals or antibiotics."
