💡 An Educational Lecture from One of the Creators of ChatGPT

Andrej Karpathy is a co-founder of OpenAI and was the Director of Artificial Intelligence and Autopilot Vision at Tesla until 2022. He is one of those rare people who are both: working at the cutting edge of a fast-changing and important technology and extremely good at explaining it in terms that anyone can understand. He is currently working at OpenAI on ChatGPT and related technologies (more accurately, in his own words, he’s trying to build something similar to J.A.R.V.I.S. from Iron Man).

He has just published a one-hour lecture on YouTube. It gives a great introduction to Large Language Models (LLMs).

LLMs are technologies like ChatGPT from OpenAI, Bard from Google, Llama from Meta, Claude from Anthropic, and others.If you want to learn more about how neural networks work, we recommend watching this lecture "Intro to Large Language Models."

• It has more knowledge than any single human about all subjects;

• It can browse the internet;

• It can use the existing software infrastructure (calculator Python mouse/keyboard);

• It can hear and speak and generate music;

• It can "self-improve" in domains that offer a reward function;

• It can be customized and tuned for specific tasks many versions exist in app stores;

• It can communicate with other LLMs.
