🤖 The 'Minister of Truth' at OpenAI. Who is Mira Murati?

The story would not be complete without mentioning OpenAI's CTO, Mira Murati.

💯 Mira Murati has made it onto the TIME100 Next list of rising leaders. The Financial Times named her one of the most influential women of 2023. Wired called her OpenAI's "Minister of Truth." She not only leads the development teams for ChatGPT and DALL-E but also ensures that the responses from these neural networks are accurate and unbiased.

📹 Recently, Mira Murati gave a joint interview with Sam Altman to the Wall Street Journal, where they called AI "the best tool ever created by humans," discussing future GPT models, the relationship between humans and AI, and safety issues.

It's essential to start integrating AI in every layer of society. We have to make sure that people experience for themselves what this technology is capable of versus reading about it in some press release, especially as technological progress continues to be so rapid. It's futile to resist it.

A brief biography of Mira:

1988: Murati was born in Albania. At 16, she moved to Canada to study.

2012: She graduated from the School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.

2013: She began working at Tesla, participating in the development of several models, including the Model X. As a senior product manager, she worked on training AI for the autopilot system.

2016: Moved to Leap Motion, focusing on virtual and augmented reality technologies. In particular, she developed "hand motion capture," which found application in sign language recognition.

2018: She started working at OpenAI, where she was responsible for training the first and subsequent versions of GPT, DALL-E, and Whisper.

2023: During Sam Altman's dismissal, Murati became the acting CEO for a couple of days.
