🎬 AI-Made Short Wins Best Director Award
An AI-made short film has won Best Director at Koroche, Russia's annual short-film festival in Kaliningrad. "Perfectly Rejected," a nine-minute mockumentary by artist-filmmaker Uldus Bakhtiozina, was created end-to-end with AI.
The film gives voice to porcelain figurines whose monologues question perfectionism and the fragility of beauty.
"I wanted to prove you can build a coherent narrative with AI," Bakhtiozina told @hiaimediaen. "I used ChatGPT, Midjourney, Kling AI, Runway, Udio—and my brain. It took 168 hours and about $630."
To capture an authorial style, she fine-tuned models on a small set of 20-25 photos.
🎭 Bakhtiozina joked that she and her computer could walk the red carpet in matching suits. She may also try a feature-length AI film.
