👨‍💻 Pavel Durov Will Build a Decentralized AI Network

The Telegram founder announced the Cocoon project (Confidential Compute Open Network) at the Blockchain Life 2025 conference in Dubai.

Cocoon is a decentralized inference network. Private GPU owners can rent out their power and earn rewards in TON cryptocurrency for running AI models.

Privacy is a key focus: all data is encrypted, and no one will see the AI requests processed.

Cocoon's first major client will be Telegram itself. Users don't want their chats and personal data to be processed by third-party companies, Durov explains.

⏳ So, advanced AI features are definitely coming to Telegram. And they will likely be based on open source models. It seems the collaboration with Musk's xAI will never happen.

✈️ Cocoon is now accepting applications for the project, launching in November.
