😄 New South Park Episode Is All About Sora 2

The latest South Park episode centers on Butters, who creates a deepfake of a classmate. The video triggers a chain reaction as other students begin producing fakes featuring Totoro, Bluey and other characters, pushing the situation beyond a simple school joke.

Detective Harrison, unfamiliar with how AI models operate, treats the clips as real evidence and launches an investigation. At the same time, Japan's Studio Ghibli moves to protect its characters, including Totoro.

The episode was released six weeks after OpenAI launched its Sora 2. During this period, Japanese animation studios, including Studio Ghibli, formally requested that OpenAI stop training its models on their work.

OpenAI also restricted the generation of South Park–style videos after the model produced scenes nearly identical to the original show.

🤣 In 2023, South Park co-creator Trey Parker wrote an episode using ChatGPT, and the chatbot was credited as a co-writer.
