🔎 Google Denies Training Gemini on Gmail Data

The corporation officially stated that it does not train Gemini on personal data from Gmail, Docs, and Drive. The panic stemmed from "Smart Features" settings. Users feared that under the guise of "smart sorting," Google was getting permission to read their mail to train the AI.

Google clarified that algorithms analyze emails only to enable services within your specific profile (e.g., auto-sorting). This data does not enter a general dataset and is not used to train the model.

The rumors originated from a Malwarebytes article, which the company later corrected. Confusion was compounded by a recent glitch that may have inadvertently enabled personalization settings for some users.

❎ If you still want to prevent even local analysis of your emails, you can disable the "Smart Features and Personalization" option in your Gmail settings.
