🔍 CIA Rapidly Expands AI Use to Hunt Spies and Analyze Data

AI is already being used to produce fully autonomous intelligence reports. The CIA also wants to deploy AI agents to process huge volumes of data, detect signs of foreign intelligence activity, and analyze information gathered by human agents and surveillance tools.

According to CIA Deputy Director Michael Ellis, "AI co-workers" based on classified versions of GenAI tools will appear across the agency's analytical platforms within the next few years.

👨‍💻 In the past year alone, the agency tested 300 different AI projects. The White House is pushing for faster adoption, and CIA officials also see it as necessary for technological competition with China.

👨 At the same time, the CIA is building "digital twins" of world leaders as chatbots to predict their behavior. These systems are trained on both open-source materials and classified intelligence data.
