Leopards hoist their kills into trees to avoid scavengers

While leopards are large cats, in a competitive environment, their kills are often stolen or they themselves at risk from lions, hyenas or even wild dogs. As a result, they often drag their kills to a nearby tree and hoist their prey out of reach of any who would be scavengers, so they can eat in peace.
