Genovesa Island, one of the islands located in the Galapagos archipelago, is a birding mecca. It is often referred to as the island of the birds because of the large number of sea birds found in this tiny place. Red-footed boobies, frigate birds, and Nazca boobies use this island for nesting. But among the birds, the swallow-tailed gull can be found here. It is one of the few nocturnal birds in the area, the other being the lava gull. ⁠
