Trying to wake up on a Sunday morning be like: 🦭

This elephant seal pup is trying to catch some much needed sleep! Elephant seals have been observed sleeping for an hour or less a day on land. Considering they’re almost always underwater, these pinnipeds can devote only a few minutes to breathing at the surface between dives — which is hardly long enough for a nap. These precarious sleeping habits have led scientists to believe that these seals sleep as they sink in the sea.
