Zaandam нідерландське місто відоме паперовим виробництвом та кораблебудуванням
Zaandam is a charming Dutch city that has been an industrial center since the 17th century, known for paper production and shipbuilding using windmills. It is located near Amsterdam, in the western part of the country, on the Zan River. The city was visited by Czar Peter in 1697 to study shipbuilding, and his wooden house where he stayed is now a museum. The city also inspired Claude Monet’s artwork, who was impressed by the colorful houses, boats, and mills. Just north of Zaandam is Zaanse Schans, a museum village where visitors can see old wooden houses and mills, watch a workshop on making wooden shoes, and try tasty cheese.
