Huacachina, situated in southwestern Peru, is a village that encircles a small oasis and is enveloped by sand dunes. It is positioned approximately five kilometers away from Ica, in the Ica District of Ica Province. In 1991, the oasis was featured on the rear side of the 50 nuevo sol note. Although the village has a fixed population of roughly 100 individuals, it welcomes tens of thousands of tourists annually.
