Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, is situated near Serengeti National Park and houses more than 30,000 creatures at any given moment. The crater’s rim, which stands at approximately 2,200 meters high, has a distinct climate. From this elevated viewpoint, one can observe the tiny silhouettes of animals traversing the crater floor far below. The rocky rim is often covered in blankets of clouds throughout most days of the year, making it one of the few places in Tanzania where temperatures can feel cool at night.
