Oxpecker removes ticks from hippos and rhinos in african savanna

The oxpecker is a helpful bird that removes ticks and parasites from animals such as hippopotamuses and rhinoceroses. They feed on these ticks, as well as anything else they can collect from the backs of their hosts. Oxpeckers are even considered to be parasites, too, at times, due to their tendency to open wounds on the backs of animals! 🐦
