Chipmunks face predators while foraging for food in the wild

Chipmunks live a very difficult life, having many predators, some of which rely heavily on them for food. Some of these predators include foxes, coyotes, bobcats, snakes, hawks, raccoons, weasels, and owls. Chipmunks feed on seeds, berries, nuts, flowers, and mushrooms, which are often found exposed above ground. This makes it very hard for them to successfully locate and consume enough food without exposing themselves to nearby predators, and it can be a very risky task.
