😎 HTC Unveils $520 Smart Glasses
A Taiwanese HTC has revealed the VIVE Eagle glasses, a direct competitor to Meta's Ray-Ban and Oakley models. The key feature is the built-in VIVE AI voice assistant, which can switch between ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
The AI assistant can translate camera content in 13 languages in real time. The sensor is a 12MP ultra-wide, just like Meta's devices. The glasses weigh only 49 grams, feature ZEISS sun lenses, and last up to 36 hours on a single charge, with 50% battery recharged in just 10 minutes. They are compatible with both iOS and Android.
VIVE Eagle starts at $520 and is available in 4 colors: berry, coffee, grey, and black. For now, the glasses are available for pre-order only in Taiwan, with sales starting September 1.
🕶 Meanwhile, rumors suggest that as early as next month, Meta will release a more expensive model, Hypernova. Its main feature is a virtual display, and the price is expected to reach iPhone levels, around $800. Interestingly, during development, the projected cost was up to $1400.
